Friends Helping Friends Raffle

Deserving Rides, sponsored by Advanced Auto Clinic, is raffling off a completely refurbished 2010 Hyundai Elantra!

Help us honor the memory of Chris Kroening, who recently lost his battle with cancer. In support of the Kroening family, we will be holding a raffle to win a car. All proceeds will be donated to his family, offering support during this difficult time after his passing.

Chris was one of a kind. He was that quiet guy at the back of the room that never wanted to be the center of attention. Chris loved his Packers, Brewers–he proposed to wife at a Brewer game, Badgers, and, of course, the Milwaukee Bucks. Any Wisconsin sports team he certainly was a fan of. He loved watching sports. One of his favorite things was to watch his girls play volleyball, basketball, and especially softball. He was excited that his son Connor was starting baseball this summer. His wife and children were his life; they were his pride and joy to the very end.

Chris has always been a dedicated friend, employee, husband and most of all the greatest dad. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Read the full obituary here.

The Foggiest Idea (Fogged Windows in Cold Weather)

In cold weather, you may notice your windows fogging up. Then you can’t see where you’re going, and suddenly you and those around you are in danger. So, what causes your windows to fog up in cold weather, and how can you stop it?

Fog is simply moisture condensing on a cold surface. When the air inside your vehicle is moist and warmer than the outside air, it hits the glass that’s cooled by the outside temperature, and you get fog.

If your windows fog up, you probably already know to try the defroster for your windshield. You may also have an electric defroster for your rear window and outside rearview mirrors. Electric elements in the window and mirror glass heat up, so the moisture doesn’t condense on the glass.

If the defroster isn’t working on all the windows, turn up the temperature setting on your heater. Hot air holds more moisture. Switch on the air conditioning. As the air moves over the cooling coils, the moisture is removed. Turn your ventilation system off the “recirculating” setting, so it lets in outside air. Open a couple of windows slightly to move some of the moist, warm air out as the cooler, dry air comes in. Your windows should quickly clear up.

For this to work, all the systems in your vehicle must be working properly, of course. Blower motors must work, and the air conditioner condenser and its other components need to be in good operating condition. Plus, you have to be able to roll down your windows.

This is why it’s essential to keep all of the components in your vehicle in good working order. Who knew it was so important for your air conditioner to work in cold weather months? Add to that the fact that, in many vehicles, the air conditioner automatically comes on when you turn on your windshield defroster. That way, the A/C removes moisture as the heat warms the glass to prevent condensation, a very effective one-two punch. It’s a good idea to have your NAPA AutoCare Center perform an A/C inspection every year to make sure it’s working as it should all year round.

Oh, one thing that helps prevent fogging is making sure the insides of your windows are cleaned regularly. Dirt and oil on the glass give water molecules something to cling to. Boy, this sure clears up the subject of foggy windows!

Schedule your AC tune-up today and ensure your vehicle’s systems are in good working order, including your air conditioner, blower motors, and condenser. Contact AAC to book an appointment and prevent foggy windows all year round.

Building a Better Auto Shop: An Interview with Tony, Owner of AAC

Tony, the owner of Advanced Auto Clinic in Delavan, is being interviewed by local insurance agent Hannah Calkins and local realtor Cameron Loback. Tony talks about how he got into the business of auto repair, his background in tech school, and his experience working at a dealership before transitioning to an independent shop. He discusses the opportunity to buy more shops and expand his business, eventually leading to the construction of a new 14-bay shop with his wife’s day spa business in the front half. Tony emphasizes the importance of honest auto repair and his commitment to staying on top of the latest technology and training his technicians. He also discusses the adoption of digital vehicle inspections, which give customers a detailed report of the condition of their vehicle, including both issues and good points. The interview touches on the importance of building a better work environment for technicians and improving the reputation of the industry as a whole.

A big shout-out to the talented team at So. Wisco Media for putting together such an impressive interview with Advanced Auto Clinic.

Tony talks about his journey into the automotive industry and his passion for providing honest auto repair services. Tony has been in the industry since he was a kid, following his dad, who was a gearhead and did a lot of racing. Tony would tear apart lawnmowers and bicycles and fix them for his friends. He went to tech school out of high school and got hired at a dealership, but he grew bored with the repetition and moved to an independent shop where he excelled in diagnostics and electrical work. Tony eventually expanded from a two-bay shop to the current shop he has now, and he is currently building a 14-bay shop with a spa in the front half and the auto shop in the back half.

Tony saw the need for honest auto repair services in the industry and strives to provide just that. His team attends regular training to stay up-to-date with the latest technology and can work on a wide range of vehicles, including hybrids, electric, and diesel. Tony adopted digital vehicle inspections ten years ago, and his team takes pictures and gives descriptions of everything they find wrong with the car, as well as things that are good. Tony believes in providing a work environment that is better than most shops and offers benefits to his technicians.

Advanced Auto Clinic is a shop that believes in thinking outside of the box, as seen by their upcoming 14-bay shop with a spa. They believe in marrying different businesses together to create something unique and exciting. Tony’s passion for the automotive industry and his drive to provide honest auto repair services make Advanced Auto Clinic a go-to shop in the Delavan, Wisconsin community.
